Los Angeles, CA (December 4, 2023) Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce the arrival of Kimberly C. Carter as a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice in Los Angeles.

She joins EBG after having served as Managing Partner in her past firm’s Los Angeles office and amid EBG’s growth in Los Angeles and along the West Coast. EBG added employment attorney Andrew Lichtenstein to its Los Angeles office in August and a group of six attorneys in Portland, Oregon, earlier in the summer.

“Kim’s wealth of experience across the employment law spectrum will add to our deep and growing bench in Los Angeles,” said David W. Garland, Chair of the firm’s national Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Steering Committee. “As California continues to provide challenges to employers in the State, Kim is particularly well suited to provide clients with the legal counsel necessary to stay ahead of the constantly changing regulatory landscape.”

Carter provides robust defense strategies and practical counsel on a broad range of employment law matters, focusing on identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in her clients’ employment policies and procedures and obtaining efficient and favorable resolutions of employment disputes, claims, and litigation.

With clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to chambers of commerce and other business organizations, Carter combines her aggressive advocacy, extensive trial experience, and understanding of the law to produce creative and constructive solutions for her clients. She is well versed in employment claims brought by current and former employees, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and other employment-related torts and liabilities.

“EBG, and in particular its Los Angeles office, was the right choice for me given its tailored labor and employment approach, as well as its varied and accomplished roster of attorneys,” said Carter. “The synergies between EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice and my own practice will allow me to seamlessly join this new team and immediately begin to add value where I can.”

She is Chairman of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce’s Education Fund & Foundation.

EBG’s addition of Carter continues a broader expansion of the firm’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice: In October, the firm announced the arrival of five employee benefits and executive compensation attorneys in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
