Employers rely on América Garza* for assistance with a wide range of employment-related matters, including litigation and regulatory compliance.

América helps guide employers through issues involving medical leaves and accommodations, the movement of employees between competitive businesses, the retention or departure of high-level employees, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, or misconduct. She aids in assessing and updating employment agreements, procedures, and policies as needed to remain compliant.

América started her career with Epstein Becker Green as a summer associate in the New York office, where she worked on projects relating to biometrics in the workplace, cannabis issues, disability accommodations, and COVID-19 precautions. She earned a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.

During law school, América focused on clinical work pertaining to workplace discrimination, devoting time to her school’s Employment Law Clinic and Disability and Civil Rights Clinic. She served as co-chair of the Immigrant Visa Assistance Program, where she coordinated and conducted refugee intake and prepared visa applications. She also participated in the Latin American Law Students Association’s Moot Court team and coached as Moot Court Chair for two years. She is a founding member of the Women of Color Alliance at Brooklyn Law School. Prior to law school, she was a paralegal in the labor and employment practice at the New York headquarters of an international law firm and a legal assistant at a New York Law firm.
