Overview

Janae Barrett* brings her dedication and results-oriented attitude to providing employers with practical and reliable solutions to the many legal issues they face.

She helps guide employers through complex federal, state, and local employment laws as they apply to all aspects of the employment relationship, from hiring and promotion to discipline and termination. Employers also rely on Janae for assistance with wage and hour compliance, workplace accommodations and leave of absence requests, and internal investigations of alleged workplace misconduct, including allegations of harassment and retaliation.

Janae began her career at Epstein Becker Green as a Summer Associate in the New York office in 2022, researching workplace alcohol and drug policies, compulsory new hire processes, and anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, and bystander intervention training. While a law student, she served as a legal intern at a Baltimore-area lawyer referral and legal resource platform, an artists’ rights management solutions group, and, most recently, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She was also a human resources (HR) associate at a not-for-profit corporation. Before starting law school, Janae worked in HR positions at a major financial services firm.
